The bridge crane is one kind of the bridge hoist cranes, and it can work in the space of rectangular location depending on the rising organization and the moving organization which moves in two mutually vertical directions in the horizontal plane, and it is one kind of widespread used heavy transport machinery in the industry and mining enterprise. It has the big bearing capacity, high operational reliability, relatively simple manufacture craft and so on. But in actual use, because the traditional bridge crane's electrical controlling system uses sudden changing the velocity modulation by connection resistance with the rotor, and the controlling mode is relay- contact device, and the bridge crane of using this controlling mode has more shortcoming as follows: the physical characteristics is soft, when the load changes the rotational speed also changes, the modulates velocity is not ideally, it is a long time for the connection resistance to give off heat, the electrical energy wastes in a big way, the efficiency is low and so on; relay- contact device controlling system has badly reliability, complex operation, high failure rate, the controlling cabinet volume is big; The bridge crane's working conditions is bad, when the work duty is heavy, electricity damage of the electric motor and breakdown of the connection resistance usually occurs.The only way to solve these problems fundamentally is that we must change the bridge crane's traditional electrical controlling mode thoroughly. In recent years, along with the computer technology and the electric power electronic device rapid and violent development, simultaneously also leading the development of electrical transmission and the automatic controlling domain. Among them, frequency conversion and the programmable logical controller which have the representative has obtained the widespread application, which provided the advantage of velocity modulation technology for the PLC controlling frequency conversion in the bridge crane system application. The utilization of frequency conversion technology enables the control system of bridge crane to obtain a bigger enhancement from the whole, and may solve many problems of the traditional bridge crane controlling system. Frequency conversion has the widespread prospects of development in the heavy transport machinery profession because it has good reliability and wide velocity modulation scope, can realize the stepless speed regulation and has remarkable energy conservation benefit. At the same time, using the programmable logic controller to replace the traditional relay- contact device controlling system, reduced the middle link of the controlling system, reduced the controlling components and the controlling wires and enhanced the stability and the reliability of the crane control system enormously.
