In order to reduce the East-West gap, the Chinese government has raised a new strategy of Promote the Central and the West since the 21 century. The Jiangxi province caught the excellent opportunity and had its economic development stepped into the fast lane. As the capital of Jiangxi, Nanchang made never-ending changes and improvements in every field of work, especially in the aspect of urban construction. Nowadays, Nanchang is constructing many large-scale new districts, such as Hong Gutan, Changdong and Xianghu. The construction of these new districts requires the advanced planning and timely building of every kind of basic facilities. Based on this requirement, this thesis thus attempts to plan the 110kv electricity grid of the Xianghu New City, including the design of 110kv converting station, and the 10kv circuit. The Xianghu New City is planned to develop into a new district of 12 square kilometers, and with 150,000 populations. Consequently, it seems rather important to have a good electricity grid planning of this area.An 110KV converting station is planned in this area. The high-tension voltage is 110KV with 2 loop lines, while the middle-tension voltage is 35KV with 6 loop lines, and the low-tension voltage is 10KV with 24 loop lines. The main transfiguration will be selected to use SSZ-5000/110. All the 10KV outgoing line will use the copper-core and hidden cables. There will be a 10KV central switching station within the district. Each apartment will have one single loop line power, so that the domestic load could be separate from those of elevators and other public facilities. Besides, the public facilities ultimate automatic throw-in equipment of emergency power supply and the reserve source of electrical power will be withdrawn from the 10KV circuit of Dengfu converting station. The selection, design and distribution of other equipments will also be as reliable as possible, as well as convenient, economic and reasonable. Hence, it has the flexibility for further-constructions, and any future transformations of operating method.
