Beam-to-column connections are always treated as fully rigid or pinned ones to simplify the calculation of the steel frames in traditional designs. In fact, most of beam-to-column connections are neither fully rigid nor pinned ones. They belong to semi-rigid ones. Extensive studies show that the behaviors of steel frames such as the internal forces, the horizontal deflection and the ultimate load-bearing capacity, which could not be neglected to design the steel frames. In this paper 3-D nonlinear finite precise numerical simulation experiment been done for T-stub semi-rigid connections to be compared with a test. In the analysis the element SOLID95 with 20 nodes, contact element CONTA174, TARGE 170 and PRETS179 are used , changing status, geometric nonlinearities and material nonlinearities are contained. The M -θcurve and the corresponding rigid degenerate curve are obtained. The destroy mechanism and the effect of the dimension of T-stub and the beam and column and other factors are discussed under static loads. The finite result accords with the test result. This proves the finite model is correct and feasible. The model and the theory may lay the foundation for the analysis of the model under the cyclic load in the future.
