With the development of social economy and urbanism in china, the urban transport problems have become increasingly severe. An effective way to solve the problem is to develop public traffic. Bus priority of intersections can reduce the delay time of buses, increase their speed, just to availably ensure the bus arriving on time and enhance the level of bus service. This measure will be of great important to promote the development of public transportation, reduce traffic pressure of urban and assure the city to develop Sustainable. So the method of intersection signal control based bus priority is discussed in the thesis.The method of intersection signal control based bus priority is discussed based on the search to urban bus priority transit system and the intersection signal control. First, the signal phase design based bus priority is developed according to the volume of the intersection. And an intersection model is built with VISSIM, which illustrated the signal phase design method based on bus priority. And then, think of fuzzy control is a method based on fuzzy rules and fuzzy reasoning, it can be used to imitate a policeman to control the traffic at intersection. At present, single fuzzy control using the queue length to reason signal extend time is mature. But bus priority is not taken into account. So in this thesis, bus priority and fuzzy control are combined and a two-layer fuzzy control at intersection is proposed. This control method is quested for little influence to the social vehicles when the priority is developed to buses. Finally a model of two-layer fuzzy control is built with the Simulink toolbox and the Fuzzy toolbox of Matlab. Compared with timed control and single fuzzy control, the two-layer fuzzy control method based bus priority features better average vehicle delay and average passenger delay.
