A large amount of analysis and calculations has been done in this paper According to the analysis,the variation pattern of the simultaneous efficiency of the disk cam with pivot roller follower mechanism has been obtained,and the problem of the main parameters such as a,l_t,r_b,r_r affecting the simultaneous efficiency has been discussed. For the purpose of precision cam design, it is critical to speculate the actual cam surface. Although analytical methods could exactly determine coordinates of a cam contour, complicated programs ate demanding to obtain actual cam surface contour. Especially for oscillating-roller-follower disk cam design, a parametric design method is proposed using Pro/ENGINEER. Compared with traditional analytical methods, the design efficiency has been significantly promoted. Therefore, this approach improves analytical methods for cam mechanism design.At the same time, the author has written the single-target optimization design's program that is used to design cams which have the highest efficiency and the double-target optimization design's program which is used to design cams which have higher efficency and better machine characteristic. There is the function of the double-target optimization design's program displaying the designed cam mechanism's simulated whole motion procedure as well. By comparing optimum cams of simple harmonic follower-motion basic curve with optimum cams of cycloidal follower-motion basic curve, some conclusion of reference values are drawn. It is a completely new double-target optimization design. There is great practical value of it for cam design and cam machining.
