A new type of cam mechanism with negative radius roller follower which is the research object in this dissertation will have a very clear, bright application prospect, because of the concave and convex contact state between the cam gear and its follower, then the integrative radius of curvature become larger, the contact stress lower, lubricant the film formation easier, so there will be significant increasing on the carrying capacity, contact strength, lubrication and friction abrasion resistance, transmission efficiency, working life and so on.Through research and analysis, 12 formations as all configurations of this new type cam mechanism have been obtained. All the following researches are achieved by F type cam mechanisms with translating and oscillating follower as examples.The pressure angle expressions of these 12 formations are derived by the method of instantaneous center of velocity and the method of auxiliary angle.The profile equations, curvature radius, profile perimeter, profile area and distortion criterion, etc. of these new type mechanisms with translating or oscillating follower are obtained by the support function method.Compared of translating and oscillating follower mechanisms'characteristics, the general model for kinematics of pure rolling conditions are set up. Then through reversing rotation to the cam mechanism, the detail kinematics conditions of pure rolling are received for each one.Put force analysis to mechanisms with translating or oscillating follower, set up balance equations to each other, then the dynamics conditions of pure rolling are acquired.A complete suit of mechanism analysis theory is summed up by considering campaign fidelity, pressure angle, pure rolling contact strength, lubrication and other performance indicators.A software, NCASS, on these new type cam mechanism is developed according to analysis and synthesis theoryThrough the analysis of these mechanisms and software verification, a brief description about the characteristics of these cam and appropriate workplace is taking on.
