Along with the rapid development of science and technology, automotive technology has been rapid development, especially the vehicle speed has been greatly improved. However, there will be higher demand for the vehicles travelling comfort and stability because of the improved vehicle speed. Vehicle suspension system is connected with the body as a bridge between the wheels, and the main vibration of a moving car is attenuated by the suspension system. Shock absorber is an important part of suspension systems, which plays an important role in the suspension damping system.Therefore, it is necessary through research damper's dynamic performance to improve the whole vehicle dynamics.First, the thesis improves the original controllable shock absorber's structure , in the middle of the work cylinder of shock absorber design symmetrical opening slot. Opening slot designed can divid shock absorber into three work characteristics area, soft, hard and mixing characteristics of the work area. When the position of the shock absorber changes in their work areas, the corresponding of shock absorber damping characteristics will be changed. Opening slot design can increase controllable shock absorber's damping extent and the shock absorber's ability to adapt different road condition.Secondly, according to the improved shock absorber's structure using fluid dynamics theory and the theory about large limited deflection of thin elastic annular plate to establish the shock absorber's mathematical model about the tensile and compression process in the three areas.And the mathematical model is Non-linear mathematical model of subparagraph,which can give the design of the controllable damping shock absorber and dynamics simulation an excellent guide .Finally,according to the establishment of the shock absorber's mathematical model, the dynamics simulation of Shock Absorber performance were studied. Simulation data from the study can be proved that the desired objective after the structure improved to be achieved, namely, to achieve to increase the extent of damping controllable shock absorber, as well as increase the scope of the improvement of soft features. And the major structural parameters influence to dynamics characteristics of the shock absorber were analysised. According to different damping mechanism of shock absorber structural parameters, shock absorber's structural parameters were divided into three categories. On the basis of this, the structural parameters of various types of shock absorber's impact degree to damping force were analysised . By the different structural parameters of the shock absorber impact to damping force draw ing the impacting trend curve. By comparing all kinds of data, in the design and production process of the shock absorber,the optimal sequence of structural parameters adjustment were determined,which can proved reference methods for the design and manufacturing to shock absorber.
