Oil is the important energy in the modern industry, especially in the transportation industry and automobile's fuel in the next long time is still the petroleum products. With the development of the automobile industry, the number of vehicles, the use of more and more petroleum products, automobile fuel economy also obtains more and more people to concern. Fuel economy is one of automobile's main operational performance, it will run common condition of the vehicle travel 100 km fuel consumption or make a certain amount of fuel mileage of cars travel on the measure.The modern methods of fuel consumption of measurement can be summarized in two main categories: direct and indirect measurement law. The direct measurement law has volumetric method, weight method as well as flow meter law and so on, but these methods need to disassemble oil circuit of examined vehicles, implementing the disintegration examination to bring the very major difficulty for the actual operation. The indirect measurement law is mainly the carbon balance law, which does not need to open the solution vehicles, but the equipment is huge, complex, and not portable. Therefore, this paper use of air-fuel ratio to calculate fuel consumption, the principle of indirect measurement method, which aims to overcome the existing shortcomings of test technology of the above, to provide a vehicle carrying, rapidly real-time, non-disintegration of the fuel consumption measurement methods.The principle of air-fuel ratio method is that from the definition of air-fuel ratio, fuel consumption is equivalent to gas into the engine by air-fuel ratio, gas into the engine calculated through method of speed-density by the air temperature, air pressure and engine speed, air-fuel by excess air ratio conversion. This article is in Jilin Province Science and Technology Development Fund project "vehicle fuel consumption / emissions for rapid detection research and development" on the part of the content. The paper establishs a air-fuel ratio measurement of fuel consumption model, a fuel consumption test system, and a pilot study. By analyzing the results of the trial, the established theoretical model has been amended ,developing a fuel rapid detection process applications.Sensors measured by the engine intake pressure, temperature and speed into by the exhaust analyzer measured the excess air ratio conversion, automotive GPS system by measuring the speed of a moving car, and other information, the measurement data collection to a notebook computer For computing, the final calculation of fuel consumption and exports of 100 km fuel consumption, and the measurement data and calculated the data stored in the corresponding data files in order to test in the latter part of the data processing and analysis.According to theoretical models identify pilot programme to test the equipment required for the design and selection, built by the exhaust analyzer, engine sensors group, GPS systems and fuel consumption for automotive equipment such as the composition of test equipment.The paper develops a real-time monitoring data collection software applications based on VC + + for application development system. The software can display real-time measurement to a certain speed of vehicles travelling at the inlet pressure, inlet temperature, engine speed, the excess air ratio and the speed of vehicles travelling to a fixed time interval preservation of data, and calculate fuel consumption displayed.
