Electromagnetic environment evaluation of Electric large target is an important aspect of Electromagnetic Compatibility. Ray Tracing, which is most popular method, is an approximately effective but not an efficient way to simulate and evaluate the Electromagnetic environment of Electric large target. For accuracy consideration, beam tracing is developed. And also we have developed a k-d tree based beam tracing method to achieve the acceleration for simulation and evaluation.Beam tracing is an accurate way to compute the Electromagnetic field propagation path. To construct an effective and efficient beam tree, we adopt kd-tree as an accelerate structure to organize the 3D data. We have developed some robust and effective techniques to cope with beam's traversal of k-d tree, and intersection with triangles in the scene. And also, some culling methods such as view frustum culling and back face culling techniques are used to accelerate the beam-triangle intersection. To achieve more acceleration we used hardware to optimize the algorithm. We have explored the potential of SSE instruction and multi-core CPU's compute power. After that we fully explore the computational power of CUDA, which is an compute architecture based on GPU, to compute the diffraction path. To evaluate the Electromagnetic environment, we use the high frequency electromagnetic scattering theory, which is effective and accurate enough for large complex targets. As a result of evaluation comparison, our method is fast and conforms to measured results. To satisfy the requirements of Electromagnetic environment evaluation of Electric large target, an evaluation and visualization system named EMC is developed. By flexibility and extensibility targeted designing and using objected-oriented method, the system is easy to extend and maintain.
