Propagation prediction is very important in the design of modern wireless communicationsystems. In high frequency communication, the ray tracing method has become a vital tool forpropagation prediction. This is especially suitable for microcell and picocell environment. Theconventional ray tracing method is very inefficient if no speed-up algorithm is employed. In thesis,the ray tracing method is based on dividing the propagation space into tetrahedral cells, it’s no needto calculate the intersection point, and don’t need to determine the position of the receiver inadvance. In addition, the parallel algorithm was adopted to realize the method, effectively shortenthe calculation time.In this thesis, the main contents and contributions are as follows:(a) By finite element mesh generation software subdivision Gmsh for modeling andsubdividing simulation environment, and combined with a fast and effective pre-precdssingalgorithm to provide the environmental data. And programmed to set the reflection coefficient ofthe surface, which laid a foundation for accurately calculating field strength.(b) Modeling and simulation in two actual environments, compares the computing time oftracing part and receive part, parallel implementation for each receiver in the process of receing.The codes are written in FORTRAN based on MPI, meanwhile, combine with the geometrytheory of diffraction(GTD) and uniform theory of diffraction(UTD),obtain the trajectory ofreflection,diffraction,and calculate the field intensity of receiver. Shorten the computation timewithout reducing the accuracy, improve the computational efficiency.Using FORTRAN combined with Message Passing Interface (MPI) parallel implementation theray tracing method. In the case of does not affect the calculation accuracy, effectively shorten thecalculation time and improve the computational efficiency.
