| With the development of optical fiber communication technology, optical fiber protection channel is going to be the main transmission way in relay protection channel. The optical fiber communication has large capacity, so once a fault occurs, the consequence is severe, thus, the availability of optical fiber protection channel should be regarded. The availability of optical fiber protection channel was assessed in this paper. Mean Time between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) are very important indexes of the availability in a system. Due to the acquirement of MTBF and MTTR is uncertain, solution of MTBF and MTTR by Bayesian estimator was proposed in this paper. The availability model of optical fiber protection channel was also built by Reliability Block Diagram (RBD). Finally, the availability of actual optical fiber communication was analyzed and computed, the theoretical availability and practical availability were compared and theoretical availability was higher than practical availability. The process proves that the method in the paper is feasible. |
