Thermal dynamic calculation of tri-sectional rotary air heater was studied in this paper, based on the present thermal dynamic calculation standard. Correlation equations for Calculating outlet flue gas temperatures of cold and hot sections in tri-sectional rotary air heater were deduced, as well as those for calculating outlet primary and secondary air temperatures of cold and hot sections. Moreover, a thermal dynamic calculation example of tri-sectional rotary air heater of 220MW boiler was done, and flue gas acid dew-point corresponding to present coal was obtained, then minimum wall temperatures of hot and cold sections were calculated according to inlet and outlet temperatures of flue gas and working substance. The study results have important engineering values for reasonable air-warming fan commission, proper air-feeding temperature selection, as well as safe and economic operation of utility boilers.
