As a multi-species, medium and small batch mechanical production, axial pump's application is extremely widespread in engineering. Because of its long development cycle and the emphasis on experience in design, it is important that axial pump's new development model is explored. Network design and manufacture is the future development trend of mechanical engineering and science, it seeks to establish shared, integrated, collaborative product development mode, further shorten the product development cycle, and improve product quality. Network design of axial pump is to take full advantage of network technology using the resources and experience to achieve rapid and high quality design. In addition, dissertation explores pump shaft's virtual machining to lay on the basis of virtual machining in axial pump's parts.(1) Based on lift design and network design, the approach, integrating design with model, is introduced. Based on platforms as AutoCAD,SolidWorks and VRML, dissertation can construct net-based modeling of axial pump's impeller and pump shaft's virtual machining environment.(2) Packaging procedures of hydraulic design and parametric model with Visual Basic generate their own dynamic link library, and based on B/S structure, virtual reality technology and ASP module technology, axial pump's hydraulic design and parametric model can be achieved online.(3 ) Researching communication techonogy among Java, JavaScript, HTML and VRML, dissertation finds out communication method among Java, JavaScript and VRML, establishes lathe's static model and workpiece's dynamic model. It provides the necessary theoretical basis and technological support to virtual machine workpiece whose parameters is varied.Practice shows that the system can automatically generate the wood-map of axial pump and three-dimensional model through entering the parameters of axial pump in page and return to IE of client, and the Pump Shaft's Virtual Machining is realized initially through entering the workpiece processing parameters in page.
