In the recent years, steel-reinforced concrete (SRC) structure and special-shaped column structure are being applied more widly than before in buildings in China. Their virtues and applicability also have been proved by lots of study achivements about them. Special-shaped steel-reinforced concrete column structure, a combination of the above two structures, will possess their advantages naturally, and will obviously improve the ductility and the strength of the special-shaped column structure system. So it is important in theory and practice to study the special-shaped SRC column structure.By means of the model experimental investigation, theoretic study and related references' analysis on the SRC columns used in the out-frame of the Qingdao Wanbang Building, the special-shaped SRC column's failure mechanism, load-bearing performance, and influence to the mechanical behavior by some parameters are studied in the thesis.Firstly, the model experimental investigation to the special-shaped SRC column shows its load-carrying performance and failure mechanism under the combinations of different axial force and horizontal force. The results of the experiment also show the bearing capacity of the column satisfies the standard of structural design.Secondly, with the FEA software ANSYS, the combined FEA model of the special-shaped SRC column is designed and it is nonlinearly analysed. The results show the bearing capacity of the column and the stress and strain development of steel and concrete. The results of FEA and experiment are similar, which proves that the FEA model is appropriate and it can be used for more profound analysis.Thirdly, the influences to the bearing capacity of special-shaped SRC column are compared under the condition of different strength of concrete, diferent volumetric percentage of stirrups, diferent volumetric percentage of steel and different axial-compress ratio. The column's realation curve of N-M bearing capacity is also run.
