Cable supported glass curtain walls (CGCW) are increasingly implied as enclosure of external wall, however, the design of the secondary structure CGCW and the main structure is carried out by different sections, which results in that there are nobodies to consider the mutual infection between them. The interaction between the secondary structure CGCW and the main structure is studied in this paper. The result indicated that CGCW augmented the chord members' bending moment in top trusses, and their pressure in horizontal and vertical trusses, while it has little influence on the web members' internal force in all trusses of main structure and the whole displacement of the structure. At the same time CGCW distinctly enhance main structure's global buckling strength. This paper also does some research about the non-linear frictional contact behavior of load-bearing cable's transferring joint in the cable net of the secondary structure CGCW with ANSYS. The result indicated that face -to-face contact model in ANSYS could not exactly simulate the flexibility of cables in transferring joints. But point-to-face contact model in ANSYS can rational simulate the non-linear frictional contact behavior between pulley and cable in joints. The percentage of friction loss on pretension force calculated by ANSYS is very close to that calculated by hand with Kulun friction theory.
