According to lots of tests and theoretical analysis, a kind of new thermal insulation mortar is developed, which could be used with thermal insulation composite system in the mix climate areas (hot in the summer and cold in the winter), based on《Design standard of residential buildings for energy efficiency in Hunan Province》. The thermal insulation mortar which could be plastered on inner wall and exterior wall, as well as masonry in the nonbearing wall satisfies the design request of thermal performance. The thesis provides the combination property of thermal insulation mortar, systematically studies the thermal performance and hygrothermal performance, looking forward to providing the technical basis for the correct use on thermal insulation mortar and government department's management and supervision.First of all, the influence factor of combination property and thermal performa- nce on the thermal insulation mortar are researched, which including dry density, percentage of moisture and aggregate. Experimental result indicated that both dry density and compression strength has certain relevance with thermal conductivity, which are either incompatible or uniform.Moreover, the thesis conducts some system research on cohesive strength of wat- er resistance, water absorption coefficient and hygroscopic sorprion isotherm. From lots of experiments, we draw some conclusions. The press-shear-cohesive strength is reduced at least 30%, when thermal insulation mortar is immerged in water for 7 days. Some factors affecting hygroscopic property of thermal insulation martor are studied, especially the aggregate type,the dosage of hydrophobic agent, the dosage of binding powder and environment. The equilibrium moisture content of thermal insulation martor is reduced at least 19%, the water absorption coefficient is reduced 66%, when the dosage of hydrophobic agent is 2%. It's promin- ent. The equilibrium moisture content of thermal insulation martor increses along with the relative humidity incresing. It is pointed out that the equilibrium moisture content of desorption are higher than adsorption, which is called hysteretic behaviour, and the water vapour desorption and adsorption process is irreversible. At low relative humidity, the thermal insulation martor mainly has the adsorption, that is effected by the specific surface area. At medium and higher relative humidity, the capillary condesations are hanppened, that is mainly effected by the pore volume. At the same time, SEM is applied for the observe of the microstructure of the thermal insulation mortar.
