Presently an obvious trend is to adopt embedded system.In this paper, a vehicles locating terminal based on ARM is designed using the embedded processor chip-S3C44B0X of Samsung ARM7 processor.GPS(Global Positioning System)is a kind of unidirectional real time position technology.Vehicles terminal based GPS navigation and orientation for automobiles apply wireless network as the platform to communicate with terminal system and control center,exchange data at the same time.The terminal system grasps data and saves it,then sends it to the data center through GPRS network,at the same time,reports the automobile's state.This research is a special practicality.Based on the study of ARM-processor and embedded system,a set of Vehicles GPS terminal system is developed.The process of developing firmware and software for this system is also mentioned.Further more,the design of wireless communication module system is integrated into the terminal system.Firstly,the current state and develop prospect of GPS devices, especially the automobile's GPS terminal system are studied in this paper.Then give the GPS principle and the architecture of vehicles GPS terminal system.And based on them,combining current electronic technology,the solutions for new kind of vehicles terminal system based GPS are provided.Secondly,compared to other processors,ARM processor has some special features which make it stand out.The thesis introduces this and then describes the design and implementation of an ARM-based GPS terminal system,the software and hardware of vehicles locating terminal system are designed.Integrating the ARM-processor,GPS module,GPRS module and embedded operate system uC/OS-â…¡into the terminal ameliorates the competence of processing data.Finally,be aimed at the GPS positioning accuracy problems,use of the filter has been optimized to deal with,so as to achieve improved the accuracy of positioning the purpose of acquisition.In this paper,based on the Higher Education Mega Center true GPS data,the location algorithm for the MATLAB simulation,the algorithm positioning accuracy is much improved.
