The paper is an investigation of the continuous rigid frame bridge especially of the curved with high piers. By own experience of the design of Elipo Bridge (50m+100m+50m three-span prestressed concrete rigid frame bridge) of the high way between Jishou and Chadong and systematic study of the the bridge theories and designs, the author studied the topics as follows.(1) Conclude the construction technics of construction cantilever beam and the appearance and develop of continuous rigid frame bridge, then summarize the characters and application current situation of continuous rigid frame bridge.(2) Competed the characteristics of long-span girder bridges, then concluded the common principle of design girder bridges.(3) By total investigating the analysis theory of continuous rigid frame bridge, various kinds of analysis method and procedure of continuous rigid frame bridges was concluded.(4) Optimization designing the longitudinal prestressed reinforcement of the superstructure of the rigid frame bridge, and investigate the theory of deploying prestressed tension.(5) Specialized the problems of rigid frame bridge with high piers, include the stability of high piers, the carrying capacity under calm wind, the control of cracks and the carrying capacity of group of piles foundation and so on.(6) Investigate the analysis theory of continuous rigid frame bridge with curved beam, and combined with design, preliminary concluded the practical design methods continuous rigid frame bridge with high piers and curved beam.
