The Reliability Analysis Of The Motorcycle Frame Based On Road Simulation Test

Motorcycle Frame, whose construction directly affects the reliability and power performance of the motorcycle, is an important component of motorcycle. In this paper, together with road simulation test, reliability theory and FEM ,the fatigue life and degree of reliability were analyzed based on the construction of the frame. In this way, it can not only estimate the fatigue life and reliability, but also can efficiently instruct the designation of the new motorcycle and practically valuable to the design of high quality motorcycle frame and shortening of the development cycle.Plenty of load spectrums were collected on the real test roads, in order to make the response on the rig be close approximately to that on the road, the MTS road simulation test rig and simulative iterations produced an ultimate driving input signal. And the driving signal was used as the excitation signal in the FEM to analyze the characteristics and the frame life in the computer.According to the 3D model of the frame, it's static and dynamics performances were analyzed with the FEM by the software MSC.Patran/Nastran. The correctness was validated through the comparison of results of analysis and test. The results of fatigue in the MSC.Fatigue and RPC are approximate.Finally, through the road spectrums collected by the collection system of MTS, the test datum on the experimental 5th road were analyzed, which is specially built for the motorcycle test on Hainan test field of reliability and durability. The dynamic characteristics and degree of reliability on weak point were also analyzed on 5th road. And the influencing factors were found out to develop the methods of strengthening reliability of frame.Through the analysis of motorcycle frame above, the fatigue life and reliability were obtained. And some important conclusions affecting the fatigue life and reliability were also made to offer practical reasons for solving the problem about the reliability of frame. Meanwhile, some weakness of frame was exposed to provide some valuable references to the constructive amelioration.
