The frame of motorcycle is the chassis of accessories such as the engine/fuel tank andso on, at the same time it’s the key part to take the impact of the road, so the safety of theframe has a huge influence for the vehicle. Test analysis is the most powerful mean toevaluate the strength and reliability of the frame, considering the shortage of the existedtesting equipment, they couldn’t meet the demand, it would lead to over testing or undertesting. Road simulation test is more and more popular in vehicle and parts. Roadsimulator can overcome these disadvantages with its high accuracy,short cycle, highreproducibility, and cost savings. A well-established test equipment, test method ofmotorcycle frame is particularly important for engineering.First of all, the method of collecting load spectrum was built, selected the positionto measure the strain of frame with the result of CAE analysis. Had collected the load roadspectrum on key points in the durability sections of motorcycle enterprise, what’s more,got the desired response signal of the beam&cushion and the stress distribution of theframe through analyze time history of frame’s load spectrum.And then, a new method of multi-channel road simulation test was proposed basingon RPC(Remote Parameter Control) combining the analysis of existed test bench, took anoptimization for the design and completed the installation of test equipment.Thirdly, the test method of motorcycle frame road simulation is studied in detail.Many groups of testing programs which combined the load spectrum with actual conditionwere designed, they took force&displacement control method, and a number of testswere carried out for each group. Got the characteristic of iteration accuracy,and themethod of road simulation test for motorcycle was established.At last, the virtual test method basing on real road simulation drive signal wasexplored. The model of multi-body dynamics was built, it was simplified properly basedon the real situation of frame. During the simulation, the drive signal got from the iterationwas used to drive these two actuators, and then collected the response signal of the desiredpoints. Made the comparison between PSD(power spectral density) the signal of test andsimulation,it was verified that showed that the simulation model is right.
