Based on the investigation on wide and shallow wandering reach's flow and sediment motion features in Xinjiang, a structure of square pile is put forward for the protection work of this kind of reach. After systematic studying of single pile and multiple piles' circumfluential resistance of mobile bed, relations of pile's section geometry size, multiple piles array form and flow conditions to local scour depth and resistance coefficient are given. According to analysis of mobile bed design of wide and shallow wandering reach, series of river engineering model experiment are carried on, and the scour rules of Ye Erqiang River Bridge of Mai Gaiti which is looked as supporting project are found out. Finally, on the basis of mobile bed alternative experiments, two protection work design thoughtways of wide and shallow wandering reach are formed and the optimum protection structure of Ye Erqiang River Bridge of Mai Gaiti is offered.
