As the most common type of pump, reciprocating pump is widely used in the national economy businesses. Based on the deep investigations to the crank linkage and derivatives reciprocating pump, cam reciprocating pump and the hydraulic reciprocating pump, there are many shortcomings of the reciprocating pump that have been found, such as more middle transmission links, less overall system efficience, complicated structure, inconvenience maintenance, serious fluctuations in the flow and pressure , as well as by the end of dynamic structural constraints, difficulty to achieve long stroke, low-conflict times, large displacement and so on.Linear motor is a device which can convert electrical power into mechanical energy of linear motion derectly without any intermediate conversion device.It has many advantages,such as simple in structure, non-contact motion, low noise, high speed and accuracy, ease of maintenance, high reliability and so on. Linear Motors has been developed more extensive research and application in many fields in domestic and abroad. On the research of reciprocating pump, if the linear motor-driven piston or reciprocating plunger being applied, the structure of reciprocating pump will be greatly simplified. And the movement of the piston can be changed so that the flow of pump is constant; Meanwhile easily to achieve automatic control, and when using the intelligent control system, easily to implement automated production.From the basic principles of crank linkage reciprocating pump, dimensionless flow and dimensionless volocity are defined in this thesis. The piston components motion laws of linear motor reciprocating pump is studied, and a new piston components motion law of linear motor triplex reciprocating pump is conducted which enable linear motor triplex reciprocating pump realize"constant flow" in theory. On the basis of analysis on the phase error and the valve hysteresis effects, the actual flow of the pump is calculated. Kinetics study of the piston components is conducted , piston components dynamic model of linear motor triplex single and dual role reciprocating pump are established, and the affecting factors of the forces are analyzed. During the analysis on the motion laws and the dynamic laws, the functions of the force of linear motor and the variables are conducted,and frequency range of the linear motor is given. The linear motor model in theory suitable for reciprocating pump was envisaged also. Finally, the efficiency of the linear motor driven reciprocating pump systems was culculated, and compared with the efficiency of the crank linkage s reciprocating pump systems, the advantages of the linear motor driven reciprocating pump are quantitativily pointed out. Through this research, a theory and method of linear motor-driven triplex pump was initially established, and the foundation has been laid to develop our own intellectual property rights for a new type of linear motor reciprocating pump.
