The electrical motor of traditional reciprocating pump transforms electric energy into rectilinear mechanical energy by using crank link gear. Its efficiency is low. The delivery rate and pressure pulsate greatly. The working time of replacement parts is low. The linear motor transforms electric energy into rectilinear mechanical energy directly. The foregoing problem will be resolved if linear motor is the driving force of reciprocating pump. This paper has designed and researched linear motor reciprocating pump.The fundamental design parameter is the delivery and pressure parameter of traditional triplex single action pump which type is 500. In this paper, the main structural parameter of linear motor reciprocating pump has been calculated; the dependability of plunger has been checked; the adapted arrangement which parameter is superior has been chosen and the reciprocating pump's general arrangement has been designed. The motion law of plunger and pump valve are changed greatly when linear motor is the driving force of reciprocating pump. The motion law of traditional reciprocating pump is sinusoidal motion. But the motion law of linear motor reciprocating pump is uniform speedup, uniform speed, and uniform deceleration. This paper has analyzed the pump valve's law of motion theoretically; designed the structure, material and chief measurement of pump valve and valve housing; compared the triplex single action pump and the linear motor reciprocating pump simply; and confirmed the arrangement of fluid end. The components have been built model and emulated by using Solidworks. The main replacement parts of pump valve and the valve housing have been carried on finite element analysis by using COSMOS/works. They assure the feasibility of the design.
