Owing to a serial of advantages , the steel tube-confined concrete component is widely used in all kinds of constructions such as civil building , bridge , industrial building , protection projects . Besides normal designed load , modern building bears accidental load such as impact , explosion , earthquake etc .. As the mainly support component, once it fails , the result will be very serious , so the dynamic response of the steel tube-confined tube component under different impact load must be studied . Since "9.11" event happened , the dynamic response of the building had been researched by the experts who are from all kinds of countries , yet, the research about the steel tube-confined concrete component is very few , so much as we can say it is nearly a blank . In this paper , the dynamic response of the steel tube-confined concrete component under the impact force is studied by experimental and numerical simulation means .Steel tube-confined concrete component in fixed-simple support with round section is selected as the research object in this paper . The dynamic response of the steel tube-confined concrete component is studied from different aspects , which subjected to a lateral impact , by experimental and numerical simulation means . At the same time , A number of numerical simulation are done by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA program in order to research the factors which affect resisting impact performance under impact load .The experiment that steel tube-confined concrete in the fix-simply support is impacting in different impact energy is introduced in this paper . The time-history curves of impact load and acceleration and the curve of deform are measured on base of experimental results . These problem including the number of impact force with steel ratio of the component and impact energy , the deform with impact energy , and the state of being broken are researched in this paper and these results will offer many helps for making the numerical stimulation model.Based on the above experimental investigation , the fixed-simple steel tube-confined concrete component under impact has been analyzed further with ANSYS/LS-DYNA program . Some phenomena and results that cannot be observed and measured in the dynamic experiment have been got , which including the time-history curves of velocity , acceleration and displacement ,the stress state and strain state in the plastic hinge . The course of moving of STCC component in impact load and the laws that stress,strain,impact loads and displacement with impact energy and steel ratio of the component are kNown by these results and phenomena . At the same time , dynamic plastic limit bending moment which is borne by the plastic hinge , the deform , impact force and the position of plastic hinge with position of impact block and the function of impact energy with displacement are got by analyzed further with ANSYS/LS-DYNA program , concluding and caculating.In order to approach realistic state of real project, the concrete-filled steel tubes with axial pressure under lateral impact have been simulated with FEM software . It is acquired that how axial affect mechanics performance by the simulation . The function of the displacement with impact energy and axial pressure with critical impact energy under different axial pressure are got. This subject has provided the credible reference and the analysis method for further research, and ,at the same time , offered reference for engineer to design relevant structures.
