FEM Simulation And Simplified Calculation Of The Settlement Of The Raft Foundation

The settlement calculation of the foundation is an important part in the foundation work design. Especially for the raft foundation of a certain stiffness and width, the difficulte problem of the settlement calculation is increased because the accurate calculation of the contact pressure is faced with more indeterminacy. Therefor, there are more and more skyscrapers with the raft foundation in our country, the settlement calculation research of the raft foundation is more outstanding. The study in point of the settlement of the raft foundation is actual meaning in the paper.Firstly, how the different plate thickness influences the settlement is discussed in the paper according to the finite element method and the visible FEM software. The stress map and the settlement data is analysed. Secondly, when the loading is invariant, how the different intercolumniation influences each other is discussed with the stress map and the settlement data. Subsequently, the settlement data of the raft foundation is calculated when there are the different loading, intercolumniation and plate thickness. According to the settlement data and the least square method principle, when the settlement calculation of the ratf foundation can be simplified the settlement of the single footing, fitting function relation is made. By means of dimension analysis method, the function relation that the size of raft foundation is simplified the size of the single footing is induced.Finally, associated with an actual enginnering, the reasonableness of the function which is induced is verified, and it makes a certain reference to the actual engineering.
