This thesis is based on October 8, 2005' 7.6-level earthquake reconstruction in the Pakistan disaster areas. Pakistan Earthquake Bureau designed the architectural standard as the background of the China-Pakistan cooperation project, and a sub-project under the standard is discussed in this thesis. Ordinary sintering brick and stone-dust mortar masonry are set as window walls of masonry walls construction, which is also the object in this thesis. Based on the quasi-static experiment, the masonry walls earthquake damage patterns and seismic behavior are studied, underlining Pakistan formulation of the unified national standards for architectural design with basic data. Research also provides a finite element method for the study of masonry walls seismic behavior.Firstly, through the stone-dust mortar compressive experiment, pressure experiment, blocks bending experiment, water blocks experiment, 3 slabs shear experiment, diagonal loading experiment and the compression experiment, the values of compressive strength, bending strength, average water weight are obtained. Then the shear breakage of the masonry, behavior of shear stressτvaring withσ, load-displacement curves, ladder-shaped slit shear strength, shear strength of links linking, compressive strength and elastic modulus are also presented.Secondly, by three groups of nine masonry walls with different ratios pseudo-static experiment, the destruction process and characteristics are obtained and further analysis of masonry walls' load-displacement hysteresis loop, skeleton curve, ductility and energy dissipation coefficient are developed.Based on the final masonry materials mechanical properties experiment results, the masonry wall-seismic behavior of the finite element model of hysteresis loop is analyed, and finite element model of hysteresis loop is compared with the experiment results.
