The Research On Visualization Of Ship Motion Modeling And Light-weight Technology

The results of scientific calculation are often abstract professional charts and data which is lack of either directness, so the visualization of computer simulation results is significant. The visualization of ship motion in waves enables ship architects to understand and thereby master the ship motion response property more intuitively that may give a reference to design work.Fast constructing ship model is the first basic work for the research on the visualization of ship motion. But it is complex to build ship model and the model information is vast, it is complicated and low efficiency to use OpenGL and DIRECTX to build ship model. In the paper a new method on model reconstruction is presented that using 3ds max to build ship model, obtaining model data utilization of 3ds-maxcript, through the edge collapse building the model that is small distortion and its processing speed is faster in the C++ in the end and has the laid foundation for the development of the visualization of ship motion.The main research contents are summarized as follows:1,Every parts of ship model is built with the method for forming models in 3ds max. Accomplish the three-dimensional ship model for visualization of ship motion according to the general arrangement in the end;2,Export spatial data and geometry data of ship model using the 3ds-maxscript and provide data for ship model reconstruction;3,Edge collapse algorithm is used in the processing redundant data of ship model and complete facilitating data of ship model to reach the requirements of visualization both in display and cartoon in the end;4,Regular graphics and irregular graphics of ship model are drawn using the API function of OpenGL and the data gained in the second step so that the whole work of model reconstruction is over;5,The visualization of ship motion is completed on the use of parameters information during ship motion and the display list and double buffer of OpenGL.3ds max; 3ds-maxscript; edge collapse algorithm; OpenGL; visualization...
