Pipe automatic tracking and sorting system can be used in motion control, position monitoring and data management, can effectively raise the production efficiency and management level. In the face of increasing competition in the domestic and international markets, an effective pipe automatic tracking and sorting systems, it is necessary and urgent.In the first chapter, the paper analysis the important role and necessity of the materials tracking and sorting for manufacturing enterprises, and summed up the technology of tracking and sorting; Then states the actuality of the technology in domestic and foreign enterprises that manufacture pipe, and elaborated on the significance of develop more advanced automatic tracking and sorting System.The second chapter, discrete event dynamic systems (DEDS), the characteristics of such a system outlined the main modeling method; DEDS of several methods of modeling, Petri nets final selection of the system modeling and analysis, given the definition of Petri nets, analysis methods.The third chapter, according to Baotou Steel Seamless Steel Tube Plant layout and technological requirements, established the Petri net Contour model of pipe automatic tracking and sorting system. And based on the reachable tree and status equation law, analysed the Petri net Contour model.The fourth chapter put forward the design principles of pipe automatic tracking and sorting control system .
