Research On Knowledge Acquisition Method Of Ornaments Design And Its Application

Combined with the major project of Science and Technology Plan of Zhejiang Province—Research on the Integration Management Platform of Ornaments Innovation Design based on Knowledge and its Application in Ornament Industry, the thesis researches the knowledge acquisition problem which is the bottle-neck of knowledge-base construction. According to the characteristic of the ornament design, the knowledge acquisition method based on Rough sets is proposed. Then an instance is provided for analysis and the prototype system of knowledge acquisition is designed and actualized.Chapter one briefly presents the status quo of ornament industry and the opportunities and challenges in its development, which elicit the requirement of knowledge and knowledge acquisition. Then the paper introduces the concept, research status and methods of knowledge acquisition. Finally, the intention, significance and main contents of the research are illuminated.Chapter two introduces the development of the ornament and the conceptional design process. Based on analyzing and comparing several common methods of knowledge representation, the paper confirms adopting the method of knowledge representation based on frame and production rule representation to represent the ornament design knowledge.Chapter three focuses the research emphasis on the knowledge acquisition problem which is the bottle-neck of knowledge-base construction. After analyzing and comparing the main methods of knowledge acquisition in common use at present, the paper chooses the Rough sets method combined with the attribute-oriented approach according to the characteristic of ornament design knowledge, and the theories are briefly introduced. Then the paper presents the concrete process of knowledge acquisition method based on Rough sets, which includes several parts as data selection, data pretreatment, attributes reduction and values reduction, rule creation and evaluation.According to the method of knowledge acquisition presented in the former chapter, chapter four applies it to an instance. Then the paper puts forward the function of the knowledge acquisition system in assisting ornament design, which follows by the structure and function design of the knowledge acquisition system relevant to ornament design. Finally the prototype system is actualized.The last chapter summarizes the chief research achievement and shortages of the paper and prospects for the future research work.
