Knowledge acquisition has been the most difficult issue in knowledge base system of product design. Different types of product design knowledge were produced at different stages of product design process. So a unified approach to the knowledge acquisition of these different types of product design knowledge is not the best option. Based on the division of the product design process, knowledge acquisition and processing are brought forward by the numbers. And also key technologies such as knowledge acquisition, data mining, management and maintenance of product design knowledge have been conducted an in-depth study. The theories and methods have been applied to the actual product design and development process of the enterprise information integration and application project and have achieved good results. Among the major ones are as follows:Chapterâ… : Summary of the research status of knowledge acquisition and analysis of the lack of the existing methods of knowledge acquisition in product design are given. And methods of knowledge acquisition and processing are brought forward based on the different stages of the product design process.Chapterâ…¡: Document classification method based on the decision tree and support vector machine (SVM) has been given for the documents of product design knowledge in the product design and investigation programs. Data sample pretreatment of decision tree and Support Vector Machine method is conducted by the documents of product design knowledge segmentation processing, feature extraction, feature merger and expression vector. And also the establishment of the document indexing and knowledge management is established by the document classification method.Chapterâ…¢: The methods of product design knowledge representation and acquisition are presented based on axiomatic design. The mapping of function domain and structure domain is extended to the interaction mapping among function, behavior and structure domain. And product design knowledge expression and acquisition of design knowledge in the process of designing and the designer's access to hidden knowledge in the minds are established.Chapterâ…£: Data mining and acquisition technology based on Rough Sets theory of product design are expounded. Knowledge stored in a database design is extracted through Rough Sets Theory in complete and incomplete information system. Product design rules extraction method on the basis of Rough Sets theory also is established. Examples of this approach have been applied to specific products, and the final recommendations for product design guidance have been extracted from Examples of the products through critical indicators and analysis.Chapterâ…¤: knowledge acquisition methods prescribed in second, third and fourth chapter have been applied in the Forklift design process, and the forklift examples given in chapter verify the validity of knowledge acquisition.Chapterâ…¥: The maintenance and management of product design knowledge are given in this chapter, and the product design knowledge management systems are developed in Hangcha forklift enterprise application. Development and maintenance of, the implementation of the rules for product design knowledge, through the detection and maintenance for the consistency, integrity accuracy to achieve the management and maintenance of forklift design knowledge.Chapterâ…¦: This chapter summarizes the main content and results, and future research directions are given.
