Study On Thermal Crack In Mass Concrete And Its Control

With the development of China economy, the engineering construction scale is becoming larger and mass concrete has been widely used in civil engineering. This makes the thermal crack problem of mass concrete more outstanding and common.Thermal crack is one of the most difficult problems of mass concrete and is related to materials, structural design, construction, management, etc. The terms about thermal crack control in Codes is not enough, thermal control in engineering mainly relays on experience, rather than theory. In this paper, the thermal crack in mass concrete and its control are discussed. The main works included in this paper are as follows.1. Based on the relative references, the definition, characteristic and application history of mass concrete are discussed. The reasons and harm of thermal crack of mass concrete are analyzed. The measures of thermal crack control are summarized.2. The method about thermal field of mass concrete is introduced.3. The measures and methods introduced above are applied in a raft foundation of one building. The thermal data monitored in the raft foundation indicate that the thermal field analyzed is closer to the real one and the measures used in the engineering is very effectives.The controlling measurements of the temperature difference and the inspecting results in this paper will not only provide convenience to the civil engineering construction, but also be used to the further study.
