| There are many countries dedicating to the research on new fire fighting technologies now. Water mist fire extinguishing systems has features of high efficiency and no hazard to environment, which represents a development trend of fire protection technology. It is a most potential substitute for halon agents, and becomes a hot spot in the field of international researches on fire protection.So,there is a wide market prospect in studying and developing of water mist fire extinguishing systems.It also matches the Chinese governmental policy of building a resource saving and environment-friendly society.The researches and applications of this system in shipping field are significant.The key technology of its design and implement method is a research focus in marine water mist fire extinguishing systems.Referring to the relevant file and data, this paper systematically presented a design scheme of the new pump-pot medium-pressure water fire extinguishing systems in ships for the first time. Its innovations are as follows:1. According to the relevant file and data,this paper made a Water mist fire extinguishing systems design and checking.2.
