The reliable and economical communication system is the base for distribution automation system. According to the characteristic of the cable distribution system, this dissertation introduces a broad band carrier wave communication technology which transfers through the cable shield layer. The communication speed of broad band carrier wave communication in the physical layer can reach 200Mbps and 30 Mbps for TCP layer. It supports TCP/IP protocol with and pear to pear communication mode. With the help of the analysis of the input impedance and the frequency character of the carrier wave communication in the 10KV distribution communication channel, we design a relevant communication mode.In this dissertation, a broad band carrier wave communication technology is used as the realization communication mode of the distribution automation. A large number of tests are carried out, including many point-to-point and point-to-multipoint tests. The communication experiments in the XiaoLujiazui region indicates the effective of the communication mode.
