The Xiaolangdi Hydro-junction project whice has been thought as a challenge in the engineering field and Three Gorge Project ranking the third of the largest projects have been builted successfully. This indicates the technology and scale of the hydrolic construction in our country has reached the advanced level. With the construction of large-sized hydro-junctions such as three gorges and impounding which make the water lever higher, hydrogeological condition has changed a lot. Many slopes are soak ed in the water, hence the physical characteristics of rock (soil) are different from initial ones. For example, the shearing strength reduces. Many stable nature or artificial rock slopes which are above water level are no longer stable and have uncertainty. As to the rock slopes in the limiting equilibrium state, they are more dangerous. This article focuses on combining method of model test and numeric analysis in order to get the distribution of stress on rock slopes under the impacting waves. By analysing the failure mechanism, failure shape and failure character, the information will offer the theoretic basis of stability of rock slopes. I hope this will be helpful to give reference to relative work.Based on the theory of analysis of soil slopes and rock mass slopes, the pressures distribution rules of underwater rock slopes can be obtained by model test. And then using numerical analysis method, we can find out the failure mechanism and stability analysis method of underwater rock slopes. As to the model test, wo put the model slope with discontinueties into the water channel. The pressures on the slopes and in the slopes can be collected by the pressure collect system. Turn to the numerical simulation, we choose Flac & Marc to construct model. Meanwhile, the change of pressure resulted from the impacting wave will be simulated. By comparing the data of model test with the result of numerical analysis, we can get failure mechanism of rock slopes under wave impaction, which makes the conclusion more believalbe.
