The design concept of offshore subsea pipeline maintenance vehicle (SPMV as following) is special one, except the over shape is not streamline like other submarine vehicle, it also has a big twin air pipe.Following is the summary of the paperStudy the hydrodynamic, resistance, calculate and analysis the floating condition of SPMV according to waterpot test。Determine its resistance coefficient of all direction both surface and subsurface, especially the resistance of air pipe and the linear hydrodynamic force coefficient both vertical and horizon profile, build up the resistance curve and stress in all direction of the vehicle, collection data for hydrodynamic model and simulation system. Carry out kinetic energy analysis for the SPMV according modeling resistance test. Modeling test also help find out the resistance affection cause by air pipe which long 20 meters and 1 meter diameter. It is showed the 80% resistance cause by air pipe, resistance of the vehicle is not primary.The paper also including the study of maneuverability test for SPMV, determine the hydrodynamic coefficient of pure heave motion, pure pitch motion, collection data to study movement of the vehicle and build up movement control model.Study the general and local intension of SPMV. Build up 3D finite element model, including 4 types: floating sailing, semi-submergence sailing, shallow water submergence and deep water submergence, calculate the load cause by wind, wave and current, carry out finite element analysis, use result as reference while improve the hull design.
