The reflective cracking in the asphalt overlay paved on the existing cement concrete pavement is the common problem, In order to delay the reflective cracking in the asphalt overlay, geotextile, geogrid, glass fiber grid are commonly used against reflective cracking. Because the difference properties of material, the anti-reflective crack effectiveness is different. Polyester fiberglass paving mat is anti-reflective cracking material being used in engineering practice in recent years and having good results. But no one has yet to made Systematic study on fiberglass-polyester paving mat mechanism, which make the use of this material to a large extent rely on experience, This is undoubtedly not conducive to play its polyester fiberglass-polyester paving mat performance.In this paper, 2D and 3D finite element models are established, starting with the general reflective cracking and reinforced materials mechanism, giving full consideration of viscoelastic characteristics of asphalt overlay and environmental factors, as well as the special nature of fiberglass-polyester paving mat, the mechanism of polyester fiberglass paving mat is clarified.First of all ,on the basis of the full absorption of the previous research results ,the material parameters of reinforced material impact on the asphalt overlay stress is analysed; Secondly, the difference between overlay of fatigue damage and the general fatigue failure of the pavement structure is research, the general structure of the road fatigue equation is amendmented, According to the literature, using the results of research on temperature fatigue, temperature fatigue equation is used to Evaluate Effectivness.Finally, according to fiberglass-polyester paving mat parameters, the fatigue life of glass fiber grid and fiberglass-polyester paving mat are contrasted, the width of fiberglass-polyester paving mat is designed and applied to engineering practice.
