The method of using expert system and fuzzy theory in fault diagnosis for substation is brought out in this paper by comparing power system fault diagnosis methods and principles in our country and foreign countries. I study the expert system to result the assured problems and use fuzzy theory to deal the unsured things.The method of building knowledge base was introduced clearly.The substation fault diagnosis emulate system runs based on the data of the information of switchand breaker coming from scada system.
