At present, The development direction of propulsion system in vehicles is high-compact, high-performance, and high-reliability. The engine heat load is increasing with the increasing of engine speed and power density, this requires the cooling systems having high performance. Vehicles cooling technology is one of the core technologies of auxiliary system in the engine. So, searching for high-compact, high efficiency cooling systems has become the key but difficult process of developing a new generation of engines.A convenient and efficient simulation platform for engine cooling systems was established in this paper. The simulation computing platform includes the engine cooling system simulation calculation and the data processing software. The simulation computing platform mainly includes the design parameters calculation, the research and set of the cooling system working principle schematics, simulation, performance prediction, engineering components selection and data storage.In this paper, a high power density engine cooling system schematics was improved, simulation and performance prediction was carried out by using the GT-COOL software, parameters meeting the requirements of HPD cooling systems were determined and the cooling systems adaptability to the environment was analyzed. According to a certain type of engine cooling system, simulation calculations were carried out. The agreement of the simulation results and the experimental data showsthat the simulation platform for the cooling system is credibility and reliability.
