Mini unmanned helicopters have been greatly needed in military and civil fields due to their particular merit in flight. In the military field, it is an essential tactical weapon: it is capable of air-to-ground attack, air-to-air attack and reconnaissance. In the civil field, it also plays an irreplaceable role not only in short-distance transport, but also in reconnaissance and aerial rescue. It is promising of wide application and is of significance to focus our research on the flight control technology and to develop the flight control system of a mini unmanned helicopter.This thesis aims to discuss the design and implement of the flight control system of a mini unmanned helicopter. After the summarization of the present research situations of flight control system for a mini unmanned helicopter, a proposal of the flight system employing DSP and CPLD as its core hardware is set forth in this thesis. This system consists of the sensor data collection circuits, the serial communications interfaces expanding circuits, the motor controlling circuits and the power supply circuits. According to this proposal, it has been manufactured a flight control system for a mini unmanned helicopter of proper-construction, low-power-consumption, strong-expandability, and low-cost in this thesis, also it has been checked and debugged.In the actual design, we have to choose the numbers of devices to be mainly used according to the system's demand and design the system architecture based on the chosen parts. After the system architecture has been designed in the form of block diagram, under a good comprehension of the system's peripheral interface, we ought to design all the schematic circuits. Then, we perform the ERC and analyze the circuit schematic, learn rules in design of a PCB and draw the layout of a PCB. When the circuit is being manufactured in the foundry, we programe the DSP. As soon as the PCB is well produced, we should download the programe which we have developed into the DSP of PCB board, and endeavor to debug it untill there is no error. At last, we burn it in the DSP.
