| Public transportation is one of the most principal parts of urban transit system. Stability and evenness of buses operation could improve both the service level of urban transit system and efficiency of passengers. However, little such evaluation indicators and methods have been founded in our country for metropolis. Based on this, the thesis combines the reliability theory and bus operation practices, gives the definition of the bus operation reliability, and discusses three kinds of methods and indicators for reliability evaluation, which includes two aspects of routes and stops, as well as punctuality and evenness. The relationship of the indicators is discussed based on a numerical example. The thesis detailedly designs the survey instrument and builds the database of the bus operation reliability. Then, it evaluates the reliability based on stops, routes and network. Characteristics of reliability at different time, on different kinds of road and route are also analyzed. This research shows that the bus operation reliability is quite low in Beijing. It also shows that the bus operation reliability has significantly related with route length, headway, and the distance between stops and origin stops. |
