Path space has already turned into the most frequent and important public space in the modern buildings because of its open and accessible spatial quality as well as its connective and transitional traffic function. But many architects which are affected by functionalism and formalism are apt to ignore the root of the path space form is the presence of people and neglect different kinds of psychological needs and living needs when people in the path space, causing the path space gradually become the negative space which is lack of humanization in the buildings. Meanwhile, the disregarding of the presence of people in the path space in some way reflects many problems in the modern architecture designing. For this reason, my study on path space in buildings is decided to base on humanization design, and through the research, many architects could be awake to the pursuit of high quality path space with humanization design, in order to give the building much more humanism and social meanings. This paper is divided into four chapters according to the logic sequence of raising problem, parsing problem and solving problems. The first chapter called abstract puts emphasis on analyzing the regarding of humanization in the path design and the related theory background of humanization design, also elaborate the aims and meanings of the study. Chapter two and three from two different angles to analyze the questions involved in the path space humanization design, one angle is the human sense experience in the path space, and another angle is the human behavior in the path space, both this two angles are the theory background for the principle and strategy of path design. The last chapter posts the principle of the path space humanization design and summarizes the wide used design strategy, in order to achieve the aims of this study.
