Although the technology for safety and defense is relatively young, it has already played a very important role in public safety for our society. With thedevelopment of the society,people are more and more concerned with the safety of environment to themselves. so that they require a safety environment badly. Thus, in an intelligent building, how to use modern control technique, network technique, multi-media application technique, and computer information management technique to form a new safety defense system becomes a hot point.This work addresses the automatic design problem of safety and defense system for intelligent buildings. The goal of this study is to develop techniques by using AutoCAD as a tool so that a software system can be developed to aid engineers in designing monitoring system for intelligent building. By using this design system, design speed can be increased, quality can be guaranteed, more profit can be obtained. This software can also enhance the process of design and implementation of safety and defense system, and also shorten the time cycle of engineering for intelligent buildings. With accurate algorithms and tools in the software system, the design of safety and defense system is no longer dependent on experiences of designer and operator of construction units. The common CAD software lacks the function of the designing monitoring points, its integration degree is low, and the operations are complex. Meanwhile, common CAD is not an intelligent system and its parameterization design is not strong enough, so it is not efficient for safety and defense system design. By introducing intelligent technology into the cmera system in this work, it can excellently complete and implement the task that the traditional safety and defense system cannot, and a better result can be obtained. Moreover, the idea and method used in this work can be applied to develop other systems based on CAD software. Thus, it is meaningful in both academic and practical applications.In this work, we use AutoCAD-based development technique, information technique, computational geometry, and Operation Research to analyze the installation of monitoring camera system in detail so that to complete the design. In this way, we present algorithms and tools for the design of the monitoring equipment installation by using Visual Lisp and C as programming languages.
