Preliminary Study Of Modern Sports Park Planning And Design

With the advancement of urbanization and mass sports, the concept of Sports Park was proposed in the 1990s in the international community. Characterized with a distinctive sports theme, Sports Park appeared with the combination of sports with the green spaces scattered in urban parks. Its appearance is an inevitable trend resulted from the pursuit of a higher living standard by the urban residents after their material life has been satisfied to a certain degree.In front of a series of existing urban problems, we are confronted with a tough task of fully exploiting the potentialities of our relatively limited urban land, so as to combine the decorative and practical values of green space, optimize the overall landscape system and create a kind of ideal green space that integrates most efficiently the aspects of ecology, scenery and function.As a response to China's current insufficient understanding and construction problems of Sports Park, this paper tries to offer a comprehensive perspective into the concept of Sports Park, its construction background and significance, analyzing the basic theory and features of its planning and design, with an aim to plan and design scientifically and rationally Sports Parks in their real senses which will meet the needs of the public.In conclusion, concrete examples of excellent designing cases both home and abroad will be cited to test the rationality of the proposed planning and designing method.
