There is an extensive distribution of deposit soil in the littoral area in our country. Soft soil has such features as big compressibility, high moisture capacity and low shear strength when external loads are added. So it will be dangerous for port and wharf to be built on it. How to ensure the stability of the port and wharf foundation and accurately foresee the settlement have become two major technical problems for port and wharf engineering on the deposit soft soil in littoral.The article elaborate basic engineering features and their extensive distribution and summarize methods of the settlement of calculation and prediction for soft soil road foundation.In order to validate the correctness of of model, the author take the forecast settlement of Hu Men Port in Dong Guan as a example, and set up the date culation model of soft settlement based on FLAC. ccording to the geological condition in Hu Men Port foreseen settlement engineering, a plastic drain plank for disposing the foundation is proposed. The deposit-inspection is promoted across the exceed whisht stack beforehand. Through more than 20 months after the settlement observation of the scene and made the authenticity and reliability of the measured data of settlement, the author use this measured data will compae with the numerical calculation, and results are analyzed and summarized.Settlement simulated calculation is by the FLAC model software combining the soil dates of locale drilling. The settlement dates are inspected before uninstall after load. We find it is inosculated to analyse and compare the results of simulated and local inspected. Then it has validated the veracity and practicability of model calculation.The final settlement possess high consult value by foresee with FLAC software, The final results applications of the FLAC model forecast can shorten the time of a project and reduce cost.
