In the process of highway construction, it often meets poor engineeringgeological conditions encountered soft soil zone that has a sedimentation volume,high compressibility, drainage consolidation poor stability characteristics. Soft soilfoundation treatment is key to control sedimentation rate and the final settlementwithin the design requirements, this paper mainly studies the theoretical calculationmethod of settlement and FLAC3D numerical analysis model fitting the actualsettlement process.Firstly, the follow four aspects are narrated: the definition of soft soil, physicalcharacteristics, classification, main problems of soft soil foundation.Secondly, theprinciple,advantages, limitations and scope of different road soft ground treatmentmethods are detailed introduced. By Jing dong highway as an example, the contractsection of soft soil layer analysis, treatment scheme selection and optimization,settlement observation and so on has carried on the detailed; the settlementobservation data of typical cross section provides data basis for study of subsidenceprediction method of behind.In the road soft foundation treatment, settlement prediction is essential duringthe embankment construction. Being to grasp the dynamic deformation, dynamic softground settlement observation and establishing dynamic forecasting system areessential. This paper firstly hyperbolic method, expanding hyperbolic method,settlement prediction Poisson curve, Asaoka method and other methods exponentialcurve are described theoretically; and then using the hyperbolic method, three-pointmethod, Asaoka method to calculate settlement theoretical instance; finally with theactual results of each method error analysis, draw the app ropriate forecasting method.FLAC3D is a software being suitable for continuum mechanics, analysis. theprogram has a powerful ability to deal with complex mechanical problems. In order toverify the prediction method, firstly use FLAC3D modeling to analysis Jingdonghighway,s soft ground settlement under preloading, the results fit well with the actualsituation. Finally, it can be concluded, FLAC3D numerical method is suitable for thesimulation and prediction of overload conditions under preloading soft groundsubsidence.
