With the rapid development of highway projects, new challenges of detection technology on highway continue to set up for nondestructive testing, accurate, rapid, comprehensive technology and this has become a contemporary direction of the development of detection technologies. But the existing road detection technology increasingly is not adaptable for highway projects needs. As a fast, efficient nondestructive testing tool, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology has sufficient theoretical foundation and can provide a scientific evaluation and quality control for highway construction, so should be extended. The first characteristics of the radar images are clear by comparing results between GPR tests and drilling core tests through interring metal plates at the pavement base interface layers. The reflected wave appears the early anti-change take-off feather because of the air void strip at the interface of pavement base. The interface between base layers can generally show the weak, the intermittent negative peaks, gentle, nearly the same level of the shaft or chromatography line. The weaker its unusual image, the more narrow that the better the quality of its construction. The above results of the road test in GPR images discrimination is very important guiding significance.Comparative studies show that: core drilling contrast test is the best method to determine speed parameters or electric constant of different base layers. The common electric constant value has been put forward by measuring highways in Henan province and it can be the reference value to carry out using ground penetrating radar to detect the basis for the primary road and image interpretation.Technical standards about GPR detecting surface thickness and defects are present in this paper. Theoretical analysis of GPR detection accuracy of pavement base thickness, main factors affecting pavement base thickness have been carried out and put forward the corresponding key technology measures. Image criterion of anomaly radar, discrimination methods of base interfacial adhesion degree and defects are proposed by deeply researching anomaly radar mechanism on the basis of various base defects. And compile corresponding automatic recognition software. It has very practical application value. The research results aim at the factors affecting the accuracy of cement stabilized gravel base thickness and put forward corresponding technical measures which can solve this difficult problem.Deconvolution and abnormal migration can improve results accuracy significantly by comparing analysis of the existing data processing methods. It is shown by theoretical analysis and data processing results that wavelet analysis for the radar image processing has good denoising effects and can enhance abnormal resolution ratio and singular value decomposition effects.
