Weathered rock is important part of the study in large-scale hydropower geological projects. The depth of weathered rock, related to the choice of dam shape and the construction costs and construction period of power station. Therefore, in hydropower geological projects, rock weathering study has important meaning to the project. Based on the study of complete and strong weathered Granite in the dame area of Nuozhadu Hydropower Station, through the field geology investigation, analysed the distribution of the complete and strong weathered Granite and combination with the achievement from site experiment on weathered rock, Observed and Analyed the stability of natural slope and engineering slope that has been excavated. Comprehensive analysed the main factors which have impact on the engineering properties of complete and strong weathered granite. The main conclusions of the work papers are as follows:Firstly, according to geological survey the scene, in dam area ,the full, strong weathered in different parts are large differences.Different Engineering Geology district have different weathered boundaries. And made a detailed description of its weathered features.Secondly,through the analysis of granite formation and evolution of history, geology role superficial weathering process, described the causes of weathered granite strong mechanism.Thirdly,through complete and strong weathering granite rock acoustic tests, the nature of rock water rationale test, compression test, shear testing, the status quo kind triaxial test, deformation penetration test, standard penetration test, dynamic penetration test The mechanics parameters of complete and strong weathered granite rock in Nuozhadu Hydropower Station are given, proposed complete and strong weathered granite rock parameters of the underground caverns.Fourthly,analysis the Control factors and main instability mode of the whole, strong weathered granite slope, depending on the slop height and the embankment different location, propose the slope support model and give comprehensive proposal to the slope supporting.
