With the continual development of computer technique, computer simulation has been a powerful tool for the turbocharge diesel engine operational performance research. The turbocharge diesel engine is a typical complex power plant of multi-system and multi-level, there are a number of factors influencing the turbocharge system of the diesel engine in operation, many factors are interrelated and interactional. This paper chooses the marine diesel engine 8L23/30 as the simulating object, largely simulating and calculating its thermodynamic cycle and exploring its operational performance.Firstly, it expatiates the basic performances of air compressor and turbine, and introduces the numerical show of air compressor map and turbine map on the method of grid and analysis, then makes a Mathematical Model for the matching between turbocharger and diesel.Secondly, based on the AVL BOOST, we divide the turbocharge diesel engine into five independent subsystems including the cylinder, the exhaust duct, the intake duct, the exhaust-gas turbocharger and the cooler, combined with the actual process of the four-stroke diesel main engine, use ideal simulation algorithm about its mathematical model including the combustion model, the intake and exhaust model, the exhaust duct model, the exhaust-gas turbocharger model, the cooler model and so on, repeatedly debugging and then gain the reasonably correct complete machine simulation model. Finally, applying the complete machine simulation model, largely simulating and calculating its thermodynamic cycle from the part of the faults which impacting the turbocharge system operation including the cooler air side blocking, the cooler cooling capacity worsen, the turbocharge efficiency, injection system fault leading to raise the exhaust temperature, the intake valves blocking, the exhaust valves blocking, the turbine exhaust resistance, sea temperature descending, calculating and analyzing the main performance parameters of the four-stroke diesel main engine including the fuel consumption rate, the cylinder exhaust temperature, the power, the average effective pressure, the maximum combustion pressure, locating the immanence laws to be able to better identify the turbocharger system and severity of the failure mode and to better protect and optimize the management of diesel engine performance.
