The Application Of Bamboo Culture In Interior Design

Along with the rapid development of the global economy, the world's forest resources are heavily damaged. World forest area shrinking each year, and the loss of the Earth's surface, land desertification is a serious problem, the rapid deterioration of the global ecological environment. More and more people are beginning to realize the protection of the ecological environment which is the urgent and important event. At present, the study of sustainable development issues related fields have become a hot topic. Interior Design as the important component of environmental design are closely related to the economic development and people's life ,moreover,directly reflects environmental, ecological, cultural and other issues.For the sake of the future of mankind and generations'happiness, people are starting to promote the conservation of natural resources, environmental protection and greening. Protection of the environment, conservation of energy have become the important factors to be considered when designing. Bamboo is a sustainable resource, fast-growing itself, as well as the characteristics such as regeneration ability, the short production cycle. As a material of interior decoration, bamboo has high strength, hardness, toughness and good quality performance. Exploiting and using bamboo resources are an important way for the future development of forestry ,as well as an effective initiatives for saving the nature and protecting the planet and humanity.This thesis describes the cultural connotation and material characteristics that the bamboo itself have, which is at first from bamboo culture and its properties. Bamboo instead of wood, is a fast-growing raw material and much better "green" material, what is more, it has the profound significance of culture. Secondly, this paper summarizes the informations to exploit, research and use bamboo from tradition to modern times in the fields of interior design, also cited a number of examples about the applications of bamboo in real-life and modern architecture. Finally this paper analyzes and argues how to apply with bamboo ecologically, which refered to the latest research conclusions and technology, then find out some methods of application and some issues when applying with them people should pay attention to.
