The gear transmission is the form applying the widely one kind of fundamental drive in modern mechanical drive of all kinds, the gear transmission is that the gear wheel depending on an action wheel pushes pressure driven wheel gear in proper order to come true transferring driving force and moving, The gear transmission technology becomes mechanical engineering technology important component, and its level being indicating the mechanical engineering technology to a certain extent. because of the gear transmission in machinery industry of position and effect in being entire national economy, gear transmission symbol quilt being accepted as industry and industrialization. With the development of the production, gears are used widely,and double circular arc helic gears(W-N) have some advantage that other gears can not compare. the profile parameters of the double circular arc helic gears affect dynamic performance strongly. Double circular arc helic gears are the complxe special gear, and the design of the profile parameters is very flexible. Therefore, in this dissertation, it is very important to study the tooth profile parameters optimum on double circular arc gears by means of modern design method and computer technique.The generation of Double-Arc Helical gear(W-N), the generation character of tooth surface, the meshing characteristic of tooth surface, the design of optimization, the bend stress and contact stress of W-N in driving are studied in this paper.In the research on the meshing generation of W-N, the equations of W-N tooth, contacting lines on the tooth in the processing,contacting lines and meshing lines in the meshing, transversal tooth is derived. The meshing characteristics are diacussed. On the basis of that,we get the sub-bands double arc gear profile and the basic parameters of the basic tooth shape, and have a certain understanding the selection of the tooth parameters.On the understand of the W-N gear, according to the GB12759-91 base tooth, and the advanced design methods(Genetic Algorithm) have been used indesign of W-N gears, seek to establish a double arc gear mathematical model parameter optimization method, and receiving the results. According to the optimization of the design parameters, estabilsh the three-dimensional model.The entity model will be imported into finite element analysis software in the ANSYS,further use of finite element analysis software (ANSYS) on the double arc gear bending stress and contact stress analysis have been done, based on the results of comparative analysis, and have a deepening understanding of the double-arc gear meshing, at the same time Genetic Algorithms in double arc gear design feasibility has been proved.
